Male underachievement is rarely named as a systemic problem. It is treated as a defect in the boys themselves.
Education and culture
When girls fall behind in technical subjects, programs, grants, and campaigns appear. When boys read worse, leave education more often, and lose discipline, their behavior is blamed.
No male infrastructure
Primary schools have few male teachers, while standards of success are set with little visible male presence.
The failure arrives later
Low qualifications become insecure work, lost status, isolation, and diminished family prospects.
Act where the gap appears
Section titled “Act where the gap appears”Bring men back into schools. Test reading methods and discipline rules on boys who move more, argue more, and mature later. Count dropout, graduation, and later employment by sex.
Do not blame a child for the failure of a system that refused to understand him.
