“Oleg has more” is a race the man is built to lose. She selects somebody else’s best metric: income today, a flat tomorrow, a job title next. As soon as he catches one example, another appears.

There is no finish line.

A request becomes shame

Instead of “I want this; can we afford it?” he hears “another man managed it.” He is told to prove his worth by beating somebody whose debts, parental help, health, and cost of success are unknown.

His strengths never enter the comparison. The metric is selected precisely where he loses.

Permanent comparison kills gratitude and turns the relationship into endless probation.

What to do

Do not compete with an absent Oleg. Return the conversation to your own goals: what exactly does she want, what does it cost, and how much of that price is she prepared to carry?

If comparison continues after a clear boundary, stop calling it motivation. It is systematic humiliation.

She can choose you. She can choose a leaderboard. You have no duty to serve both choices.
